OUR STORY

The Center for Vision & Learning opened its doors on August 1st, 2005. Drs. Cheryl Davidson and Gail Doell founded the practice with the intent to provide pediatric optometric services for the St. Louis and surrounding areas. Dr. Lisa Schembri joined the practice in 2006 to offer expanded office hours and services to help adults improve their vision and rehabilitate after stroke or injury.  In February, 2023, we moved to our current location at 1000 Des Peres Road in Des Peres, MO.

We evaluate and treat patients of all ages for functional visual conditions such as tracking difficulties, binocular vision problems, vision-related learning difficulties, sports performance, autism or other medical conditions, and visual rehabilitation.

We offer in-office vision therapy to remediate, rehabilitate and enhance visual skills. Our practice employs seven vision therapists and one occupational therapist, and we provide one-on-one visual treatment for patients of all ages. Each patient's plan of care is designed individually for their personal goals and needs.

We have a full-service optical dispensary for all ages, including a full line of sports frames for children and teens. We also fit and dispense contact lenses. Our doctors perform specialty prism and lens tint testing for functional and rehabilitative purposes.

We are the first providers in the St. Louis area to offer the EyeSync technology; an FDA-cleared assessment battery to record and analyze eye-tracking impairment. All of our doctors are EyeSync certified.

The doctors and staff at the Center for Vision & Learning invite you to visit our office to learn more about our services and how they might help you perform at your optimum level!
